Alien Energy Rifle

An modular weapon designed by an alien race.
Powered by a regenerating energy core, the weapon emits energy bolts, however, firing causes stress on the peculiar electromagnetic construct that is holding it together, causing the weapon's core structure to overheat.

The weapon is feeding data, i.e. overheat level, into a dedicated material.
Modelled and textured in Sculptris.
Animations are mostly code-based to create randomization in floating weapon parts.

All particle effects, sounds and weapon model(s) by me.
Base firing animation is based on work from Valve.
